• FLONIDAN has been operating in the gas sector since 1982 and in the early 1990´s the company introduced the first smart gas meter with electronic temperature compensation. It was sold in countries, where gas meters were installed outside and required temperature compensation to avoid loss. Extended temperature range, high accuracy and superior stability made this meter the safe choice for many gas utilities. After several reverifications, this first-generation meter is still in operation at some utilities.

  FLONIDAN was involved, when the first smart gas meters were piloted in multi-utility applications in Netherlands in the mid 2000´s. A dedicated Dutch smart gas meter with M-Bus communication and remote controlled built-in valve was launched and sold in high volumes.

  Since then, the company has delivered smart gas meters to high-volume projects in several European countries, among these 1.4 million to the Dutch consortiums Liander, Stedin, DELTA Netwerkbedrijf and Westland Infra. 

  Today FLONIDAN is a subsidiary of the AVK Group, a privately owned industrial group, comprising 90+ companies.
