Targeted at both social and private landlords, the webinar will explore the impact of the RTS switch off. How many households have yet to switch to smart meters? What the impact might be for them? How can we all support households with having the right meters and the right tariffs to reduce energy bills and keep vulnerable residents out of fuel poverty?

Principal speakers are industry experts with direct first-hand experience of dealing with RTS issues at scale:

• Cassandra Dove, Policy Lead, Scottish Federation of Housing Associations (SFHA)

SFHA is the voice of Scotland’s housing associations, with 133 members, managing 286,000 homes for 1.2m tenants. Cassandra has been with SFHA for over six years, currently leads policy work relating to Energy and Net Zero. Cassandra will present feedback from SFHA members relating to the RTS switchover and explain the tracking tool developed by SFHA which identifies properties still reliant on RTS for members.

• Liam McGuckin, Sustainability Co-ordinator, Eildon Housing Association

Eildon Housing Association manages over 150 developments in the Scottish Borders. Liam is responsible for decarbonising Eildon HA’s existing housing stock and attracting funding for decarbonisation investment. Liam managed the RTS switchover for Eildon properties and has extensive experience of the practical issues that face housing associations dealing with the complexity of RTS.

• Felix Wight, Commercial Director, Connected Response

Connected Response retrofits its HeatSage smart electric controls into dwellings with electric storage heating and hot water. HeatSage reduces energy usage and improves the heating experience for residents. Felix will discuss Connected Response’s RTS switchover experiences relating to social housing, including smart metering, energy tariffs, and the importance of tenant engagement.
